Saint Davogs Church Early Stages-With Thanks To Paddy Hughes Work commenced on 28th April 1986 Foundation stone was laid on Sunday 30th November 1986 @ 4.00 pm  Confirmation Day 1987 at St Dympna’s Old Chapel lovely short video of Tummery Pipe Band. Also about 7 minutes in shows the crowd and a lot of friends and family that may be gone but not forgotten. Dromore Parish Tour de Townlands Summer 1985 Aid of New Church Building Fund. St John’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations 1965-1990.              

A lovely rendition of the history of St Johns, starting with the silver anniversary dinner dance in Mahon’s Hotel and video footage of staff and pupils over the years. A tour of the school and the classrooms at that time.

 Annual Dromore Sport’s Days Years 1984 & 1985. Some great fun had by all. Great sense of community fun. Annual Dromore Sport’s Day 27th July 1986. 
Today we have the Confirmation Mass for the Class of 1994 who were confirmed by the then Bishop Joseph Duffy on 13th March in a very full chapel. There is a lovely section of photos of each child and sponsor/family with the Bishop at the end of Mass approx 1hr 20.  The early 1980’s and a Sponsored Walk in aid of the Chapel building fund. We were unable to mark this Special Day in the usual way on Sunday 1st November 2020. Consequently, Canon MacEntee & Fr Dolan blessed the graves in both St Davog’s & St Dympna’s cemetery on a very wet Sunday 22nd November 2020.        

Please take the time to recite the rosary with Canon MacEntee as he dedicates each decade of the rosary to a specific parish cause.

 Video taken quite a while ago at a party in Henry and Rita O ‘ Neill house so many faces from the town and the video was well worded by Paddy Hughes “Henrys Hooley”. Tug- Of- War in aid of Cancer Research. Unsure of the year around 1993 possibly.
